New Pretty Green Clothing Collection: The Return of the Duffle Coat

After seeing Liam Gallagher at the funeral of Ricky Hatton (RIP legend), showing his respects like a proper gent, it really hit home how quickly life can go by. Two icons — from different walks of life — both represent what British grit and heart are all about. Gallagher with his music, Hatton with his gloves — but no longer here.

Liam was wearing that classic duffle coat, an understated and timeless piece. It took me right back. The duffle coat was a key part of my wardrobe when I was younger (and definitely a bit smaller). I wore mine everywhere, to work, nights out and to happy and unhappy occasions. It’s one of those coats that just sticks with you.

A Word on Pretty Green’s Direction

Founded in 2009 by Liam Gallagher, Pretty Green has always been about music, culture, and attitude — not trends. From parkas to men’s duffle jackets, the brand’s always stuck to its roots: proper British design with a nod to its Britpop and rock ’n’ roll heritage.

We all know it lost its way for a bit. Those of us who’ve been with the brand from the start can think of nothing worse than seeing it tied up with discount retailers — it just doesn’t do the designs or the history justice.

I’ve had Pretty Green at RD1 for just over a year now, and I only ever buy the pieces I know the true PG fans will love. The stuff that takes you back, proper quality, paisley prints and that attention to detail.

I’ve really enjoyed working closely with the PG team lately. It’s nice to have that relationship where I can give honest feedback and see how the brand’s evolving again. Although sometimes I have been known to give the Pretty Green Facebook community a few sneak peeks of what’s coming in my appointments and I do get in trouble for it! It’s too exciting not to share sometimes (that Spike Island collection was stunning and more is to come for 2027).

The new Pretty Green collection feels like a return to form. No overthinking, no trying to be something it’s not and no pushing out large quantities with a PG logo just stuck on for the sake of it. This collection is good gear, done right, with that classic Pretty Green soul running through it, and there’s still more to come at RD1.
