The Diadora Titan is a retro running trainer made by the Italian sportswear brand Diadora. It revives the running silhouette Diadora built for Sebastian Coe in 1984. Underneath sits a cushioned midsole and a durable rubber outsole.
What sets the Titan apart from most archive reissues is the balance of it. The sole unit has genuine presence without tipping into the chunky territory that dominated the last decade. Seb Coe, 1984 and the Shoe Behind the Titan
Diadora built its British reputation on tennis courts rather than running tracks. The Borg Elite arrived in 1981 and became the holy grail for young casuals. Part of that was the quality, and part of it was a price tag most could not reach. Italian, expensive and hard to get hold of was exactly the right formula.
Running followed, and 1984 was the year that mattered. At the Los Angeles Olympics, Sebastian Coe took gold in the 1500 metres. It was the second Games in a row the London-born runner had won it. Diadora signed him, and the Seb Coe running shoe followed. It landed in an era obsessed with shock absorption and sole technology.
The Titan is the modern revival of that shoe. Diadora brought the name back last decade as a lifestyle trainer, and some releases are badged Titan Seb. Original eighties pairs are firmly collector territory now. Meanwhile the shoes themselves had found a second home on British football terraces. Call them sneakers if you like, but here they were always trainers.

UK 6 to 12, with half sizes at 7.5, 8.5, 9.5, 10.5 and 11.5. There is no 6.5 in this colourway. Quantities per size are limited, so the middle sizes tend to go first.
Do Diadora Titan trainers fit true to size?
Yes, order your usual size. The Titan runs true to size on a medium Italian last, which is slightly narrower than American brands. Contact us if you are between sizes.
Is the Diadora Titan the same shoe as the Seb Coe?
Not identical, but it is a direct revival of it. The 1984 Seb Coe running shoe is the blueprint for the Titan silhouette, updated with modern materials and cushioning. Some releases are badged Titan Seb as a nod to that history.

Impact Control is the name Diadora gives the shock-absorbing sole set-up used across Titan reissues. It pairs a high-density midsole with cushioning designed to soften each step. In practice it means a retro runner you can stand up in all day.
Are Diadora Titan trainers any good for wide feet?
